About the event
In this workshop, we will explore the power of words and stories to shape our identity, our behaviour,
and our dreams. We will learn about the tools writers use to create narrative, and how these same tools
can be used to give voice to our own stories, both fictional and true. Topics covered include:
Character development, motivation and behaviour (using Jungian archetypes)
The role of place in shaping and reflecting character
The interplay between hope, fear and desire
The imperative of creativity
This full day workshop has been designed to be as nurturing as it is informative. Participants will receive
a welcome pack upon arrival and be treated to a delicious assortment of home-cooked goodies for
morning tea.
Places are strictly limited. Once registered, you will be emailed a welcome letter and an outline of the
workshop.
Siboney is a writer and teacher with over thirty years’ experience running workshops, working with
women, and writing. She has a deep love of, and respect for, the way language shapes understanding
and how this in turn informs action. Siboney has run workshops throughout the state for writers,
students, teachers and arts organisations. Her teaching style brims with warmth, enthusiasm, and
practical strategies.

wrote over 2,000 years ago)). She was a beautiful and very talkative nymph who fell out with a couple of
characters (most notably the god Jupiter, after she told his wife that he was having an affair). Long story
short, Jupiter ordered Larunda’s tongue be cut out and that she be sent to the Underworld for punishment...
